WEEE·PARK [Contract No. EP/SP/69/12]
ALBA Integrated Waste Solutions (HK) Limited (ALBA IWS) was awarded a contract by the HKSAR Government in 2015, to build and operate an integrated waste management facility for electronic waste (WEEE) in Hong Kong. ALBA IWS is a joint venture between the ALBA Group Asia and Integrated Waste Solutions Group Holdings Limited.
Since 2017, ALBA IWS has been providing regulated e-waste recycling services to the residents and businesses of Hong Kong. With a vision to transform waste into resources, ALBA IWS collects e-waste, refurbishes appliances, donates to those in need, and educates the public. The goal is to achieve zero e-waste in Hong Kong through collaboration with various parties and the community.
ALBA IWS operates WEEE · PARK facility, a cutting-edge e-waste treatment and recycling facility located in EcoPark, Tuen Mun. At this facility, collected e-waste undergoes detoxification, dismantling, and cracking to produce valuable secondary raw materials. Advanced technologies are employed to control and minimize the environmental impact of hazardous components.
The free door-to-door collection service covers 18 districts in Hong Kong, serving customers from residential estates to commercial buildings. Collection requests are typically fulfilled within 3-7 working days.
Visitors can also take guided tours of WEEE · PARK, where they can learn about the various functions and processes involved in the management and conversion of e-waste into resources. This experience offers a deeper understanding of ALBA IWS's commitment to responsible e-waste management.
